Canto Diaspora

Canto Diáspora is a female vocal ensemble in Berlin that primarily brings together migrant women from Latin America. The singers share the desire to keep memories alive, share their roots and create community through music. The choir was founded in 2022 and is led by Colombian singer Carolina Riaño. Voices that are shaped by migration, cultural heritage and personal experiences come together here. Inspired by the oral and musical traditions of Latin America, singing together creates a powerful tapestry of sound that tells of resilience, joie de vivre and the diversity of diasporic identities.

Canto Diáspora is more than just a chorus. The group sees itself as a space for meeting, expression and solidarity among women. In a supportive community, stories, feelings, and experiences can be shared and connections can be made across cultural and social borders. Music creates cohesion, mutual strengthening and care. Singing together thus becomes a source of strength, healing and joy.
