Carmen — Season of Royal Ballet & Royal Opera House

In the scorching sun of Spain, the extremely independent Carmen attracts the attention of Don José. She warns him not to fall in love with her, but his obsession reaches its zenith. This is the return of Damiano Michieletto's moving staging, shedding a harsh light on lust, violence and destructive desires in this invariably popular opera by Bizet. A star-studded cast brings this heated drama to life, with Ginger Costa-Jackson in the fiery title role and Russell Thomas as the jealous and distraught Don José. After his debut at the Royal Opera in 2023, Sesto Quatrini returns to conduct Bizet's electrifying and sensual score. Singed in French with English subtitles.
