“CASTING FOR THE MUMMY” black comedy

Is it possible to sign up for your own mummification? And what does the choice between the anonymous end and the eternity behind the display glass say about ourselves?

Fred Apke — a master of comedy of the absurd — invites you to a story full of humor, emotion and existential questions.

Is it possible to sign up for death... Of his own free will?

The starting point of this extraordinary art is an authentic event: an experimental exhibition in London, during which the process of mummification is shown. Fred Apke lets the imagination run wild and takes viewers to a unique “casting”.

The two actors take on the roles of doctor and patient, leading us through a story full of black humor, warmth, drama and a surprising twist.

Although the story touches on the ultimate themes — illness, death, loneliness, unfulfilled dreams — it lacks humor, irony and distance.
