Cat Power - The Greatest Tour

Venue: Warsaw, Stodoła Club

Using the pseudonym Cat Power Chan Marshall is one of the most important songwriters of the turn of the century, who paved the way for artists such as Mitski, Snail Mail or Angel Olsen. The unique character of her music is reflected in the albums “What Would the Community Think” (1996), which reflects the inspiration of the New York experimental rock scene, whether preserved more in folk, blues or soul climates “Moon Pix” (1998) and “The Greatest” (2006). With the latter, Marshall climbed to the heights - it was the first album composed entirely by her, which already at the time of its release stood out from the rest. This is confirmed by the numbers - the album peaked at number 34 on the Billboard 200, hit the top of the best releases of 2006 (Rolling Stone singled her out in 6th place), was included in many summaries of the first decade of the 21st century (including #26, Rolling Stone), and Chan, as the first woman in history, was honored with the prestigious Shortlist Music Prize statuette for her.

Cat Power will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a world tour and the release of the EP “Redux”, which will see the light of day on January 23 by Domino Recording Company. It will consist of 3 compositions: covers of “Try Me” and “Nothing Compares 2 U” from the repertoires respectively of James Brown and Prince, as well as a new version of “Could We” - a composition from “The Greatest”, arranged in the spirit of the concert performances of Chan and the band Dirty Delta Blues from the time of The Greatest Tour.

Admission to the concert 13+ with the written consent of the parent. Under 13 years of age, the presence of a full-fledged guardian is required.
