Classical music does not always have to mean distance and seriousness. Sometimes the first few sounds are enough to feel the emotion, energy and extraordinary power of music. “Hits of Classical Music” is a series of concerts created for those who love timeless compositions, but also for people who just want to discover the world of concert music. These are famous and unique pieces presented in a light, accessible and full of emotions form.
On November 5, the Cavatina Philharmonic Orchestra will invite the audience on a unique musical journey, where the greatest tango traditions, the extraordinary world of film music and the characteristic sound of the guitar and orchestra will meet.
In the first part of the concert, songs firmly rooted in tango culture will sound. The evening will begin with “La Cumparsita” by Gerardo Matos Rodríguez, one of the most recognizable pieces in the history of tango, and then we will hear “El día que me quieres” by Carlos Gardel.
There will also be film music by Ennia Morricone — one of the most outstanding composers of film music. The program included suites from the unforgettable films “Malèna” and “Cinema Paradiso”, whose melodies have moved audiences around the world for years.
Another highlight of the program will be Carlo Domeniconi's “Koyunbaba” — an extremely distinctive composition for guitar, inspired by the composer's musical fascinations and Anatolian culture. The first part of the concert will close with “Fuga y Misterio” by Astor Piazzolla, a piece that perfectly demonstrates his unique ability to combine tango with the language of classical music.
After the break, the spotlight will be on Astor Piazzolla — the creator of tango nuevo, who combined the tango tradition with elements of jazz and classical music, giving it a completely new sound.
Krzysztof Meisinger will perform on stage with the Cavatina Philharmonic Orchestra, who will appear this evening in the double role of guitarist and conductor. The second part of the concert will include “Bandoneón” from the Troileana Suite, “Milonga del Ángel”, “Libertango”, “Soledad” and “Concierto para quinteto”.
It will be an evening full of contrasts — from the pulsating rhythm of tango, to lyrical and melancholic melodies, to unforgettable film themes and the virtuoso sound of the guitar. The music of Piazzolla will meet the tradition of Gardel and Rodríguez, and the world of tango will be intertwined with the music of Morricone and the work of Carlo Domeniconi.
“Hits of classical music” is a proposal for music lovers, lovers of tango and film music, as well as for all those who want to start their adventure with concert music. This is an evening of familiar melodies, great emotions and musical surprises.
The concert will take place in Cavatina Hall — a modern concert space distinguished by excellent acoustics. The meeting of orchestra, guitar and unique repertoire will allow you to hear these compositions in a new edition full of energy and emotion.
