About the event

On May 20, the Cavatina Philharmonic Orchestra invites you to an evening full of musical contrasts, emotions and great symphonic images. The concert program takes listeners through three distinct sound worlds — from classical harmony and the masterful dialogue of piano and orchestra, through impressionistic subtlety, to romantic momentum and the dramatic power of imagination.

The evening will be hosted by Patrick Fournillier — an outstanding French conductor, expert and interpreter of French music, musical director of the National Opera — Teatr Wielki in Warsaw. Maestro Fournillier has collaborated with the most important opera stages in the world, such as the Teatro alla Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, the Staatsoper Berlin and the Sydney Opera.

The central point of the first part will be Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Concerto III in C minor Op. 37 — one of the composer's most lyrical and personal works. The solo part will be performed by Szymon Nehring, an outstanding Polish pianist, winner of the 1st prize of the International Arthur Rubinstein Piano Competition in Tel Aviv and an artist appreciated for his extraordinary interpretative sensitivity and full of expression of performance.

Next, Claude Debussy's “Prelude to Afternoon Fauna” will sound — a composition full of colours, poetic atmosphere and extraordinary lightness, which opened up new perspectives in the music of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.

The finale of the evening will be the monumental “Fantastic Symphony Op. 14th Episode from the Artist's Life” by Hector Berlioz — one of the most important works of Romanticism. This is an extraordinary musical tale of love, passion, dreams and obsession, in which the orchestra paints an emotional world of human imagination.

Beethoven, Debussy and Berlioz — three eras, three musical languages and three looks at emotions enchanted by sounds. A special evening performed by the Cavatina Philharmonic Orchestra and Szymon Nehring.

The pianist was already a guest on the stage of Cavatina Hall, during the first, inaugural concert of the Cavatina Philharmonic Orchestra in 2024. See what a beautiful concert awaits you:
