Cavatina Philharmonic Orchestra — Spanish Night

The hot rhythms of Andalusia, the poetic nostalgia of Spanish melodies and the virtuosity of the world format — “Spanish Night” is a unique evening during which the audience of Cavatina Hall will be transported to the heart of Spain. As a guide through this emotional musical landscape, Krzysztof Meisinger, one of the most outstanding contemporary classical guitarists, will perform the roles of soloist and conductor this evening.

The concert program includes the most beautiful works inspired by the Spanish musical tradition. We will hear, among others, the temperamental dances of Manuel de Falla, the subtle “Pawane for the deceased infant” by Maurice Ravel, as well as the guitar masterpieces of Francisco Tárregi — “Recuerdos de la Alhambra” and “Gran Jota”. There will also be the famous “Asturias” by Isaac Albéniz, the exuberant “Fandango” by Luigi Boccherini and the contemporary compositions of Vicente Amigo, in which flamenco tradition meets modern expression.

The musical story will be enriched by Patrycja Betley — an outstanding multipercussionist, composer and researcher of the sounds of world cultures. Her extraordinary range of percussion instruments will bring an extra dimension of rhythm, colour and energy to the concert, highlighting the character of Spanish music and its deep connections with the dance tradition.

Krzysztof Meisinger is one of the most respected personalities in the world of classical guitar. The artist has performed on the most important stages of the world, such as the Musikverein in Vienna, the Wigmore Hall in London, the Berlin Philharmonic or the Tokyo International Forum. His recordings for Chandos Records are gaining international recognition, and the portal uDiscoverMusic has ranked him among the 20 most outstanding classical guitarists of all time.

“Spanish Night” is a concert full of contrasts - from passion and fiery temperament to lyricism and subtle melancholy. It is an encounter with music that has fascinated for centuries with its color, rhythm and emotional strength, interpreted by artists who can bring out every shade of it.
