About the event

We invite you to a unique symphonic evening with the participation of the Cavatina Philharmonic Orchestra, during which the music will take listeners from the classical elegance of Mozart, through the French finesse of Jacques Ibert, to the oriental world of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's “Scheherezade”.

The concert will begin with an overture to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera “The Magic Flute” — a work full of lightness, grace and theatrical brilliance. It is music in which humor, mystery and lyricism meet in one of the composer's most recognizable scores.

Next, Jacques Ibert's Concerto for Flute and Orchestra will be played — a composition full of virtuosity and elegance, in which the solo instrument impresses with the richness of colors, the lightness of the phrase and the extraordinary energy of the musical dialogue with the orchestra.

The soloist of the evening will be Zofia Neugebauer — internationally renowned flutist, known for her lyrical and expressive sound. She is a graduate of the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic, where she was educated under Emmanuel Pahud and Mathieu Dufour, and studied in Basel with Felix Renggli. She has performed as a soloist and first flutist with renowned orchestras and ensembles, and currently serves as the first flutist of the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra. In 2026, her debut album with Mozart's flute concertos will be released. Among the highlights of this season are her solo tour with the German Chamber Orchestra Berlin and debuts with the Pannon Philharmonic and the Vienna Musikverein.

After the break, the audience will hear one of the most popular works of Russian romanticism - “Scheherazade” Op. 35 by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. Inspired by the stories of the Book of a Thousand and One Nights, the symphonic suite takes listeners on an exotic journey full of mysterious palaces, sea voyages, fairytale images and extraordinary emotions. The characteristic melodies of the violin symbolize the eponymous Scheherazade — telling subsequent stories that captivate with their imagination and beauty.

The evening will be hosted by Patrick Fournillier — an outstanding French conductor, expert and interpreter of French music, musical director of the National Opera — Teatr Wielki in Warsaw. Maestro Fournillier has collaborated with the most important opera stages in the world, such as the Teatro alla Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, the Staatsoper Berlin and the Sydney Opera.
