Celts on the Wisłok — archaeological workshops

As part of the project “Resovianistyka — Młoda Akademia Rzeszów” we invite you to travel back in time, during which we will discover the history of the Celts inhabiting the areas on the Wisłok.

About classes:

We will learn about the items they left behind — jewelry, tools, everyday items and weapons — and try to find out what their lives were like.

During the workshop, participants will be able to take on the roles of former craftsmen and warriors. They will make their own cut on a small loom, create Celtic patterns inspired by the monuments in the form of washable tattoos, and there will also be the opportunity to make their needle/badge using historical methods. At the end, a small warrior track awaits them with fitness tasks, tug-of-war and the opportunity to try on elements of Celtic equipment.

It will be an encounter with archaeology and history, but above all fun, experimentation and self-discovery of the Celts from the Vistula River.

Meet the hosts:

Terra Ferrata - a reconstruction group dedicated to the reconstruction of various aspects of the daily life of the population, who inhabited the territories of Central Europe at the turn of the era (mainly focuses on the area of today's Podkarpackie and Lesser Poland Voivodeship). Iron was so important to the people of that time that it was decided to refer to it in the name of the group: Terra Ferrata means as much as: “iron land”, land inhabited by barbarians who, on closer acquaintance, are not so barbarians at all. They took over many of the technical achievements of Mediterranean civilizations, and their own innovations contributed to the considerable economic and cultural development of the population living outside the Roman Limes.
