The New Yorker trio, whose mix of K-pop, indie and electronic music is making international headlines right now, gives concert at Pumpehuset on March 11, 2027
“Chanpan Are Ready To Take On The World”.
This is what acclaimed British music media outlet Clash wrote earlier this year in a major interview with the Asian-American trio, who are ready to conquer the world with their bubbly mix of K-pop, dance, indie and sharp harmonies.
Chanpan consists of singer Grace Dumdaw and twins Lance and Matthew on drums and guitar. They describe their music as a mix of PinkPantheress' energetic drum'n'bass, Hiatus Kaiyote's jazzy soul and NewJeans' attitude.
The trio met in Chinatown in New York City in the early 2020s and debuted in 2022 with the single “Jungle”, and Chanpan's original sound and colorful self-staging quickly caught the interest of the metropolis's fashion and music scene. In homage to their Chinese roots and the indie sleaze revival of the past few years, the group has dubbed their sound “Chindie sleaze”.
2025 saw the release of their debut EP “Endlessly”, from which the hit of the same name originated, followed in 2026 by their latest release, “Autogratis”, in which Chanpan showcases their vast musical palette of seven tracks, combining both frenetic drum programming, laid-back indie pop and eccentric guitar bursts.
Chanpan has been praised by media outlets such as NME and The Line of Best Fit — which called them “the newest cool kids on the block” — and has performed at prestigious festivals The Great Escape and Governors Ball Festival in recent years. Now they will embark on their first international headliner tour, which will tour Denmark on March 11, 2027, where they will fire up during a huge multicolor-pop party in Pumpehuset.
