DESIRES

CHĘCKI is a Polish saxophonist, composer and producer who consistently explores the boundaries of sound and form. His debut album “PE” was an intimate, personal story created in a home studio — somewhere between the living room and the bedroom — combining electronics with acoustic sounds. The artist has developed a distinctive musical language in which the saxophone appears in unobvious, often experimental contexts.

CHĘCKI is also known for his activities in projects such as Nene Heroine and Hinode Tapes. In his work, he treats music as a space of color, presence and interpretation of reality. Each of his projects is a new approach to form and new questions about the meaning of creation. In private — a lover of good coffee and attentive listening

“EY AY (Deluxe Slay Jazz)” is the second album by CHĘCKI — an artist who, after the intimate, home debut of “PE”, returns with material radically different: lively, spontaneous and captured in real time. If “PE” was a personal record of moments locked in a controlled, studio environment, then “EY AY” is its opposite — a sonic organism that breathes, pulsates and happens “here and now”
.
The album was made in just two weeks, in a fit of intense inspiration. Chęcki created sketches of the composition, which were then developed — together with drummer Tymek Papior and pianist Marcel Baliński — during one, six-hour recording session. Importantly, all the material was recorded as one take.
No overtime, no revisions, no replays. It is a record of pure presence—a moment that will never happen again. The subtitle “Deluxe Slay Jazz” carries an additional, personal layer of meaning. This is a subtle but significant nod to one of Chęcki's greatest passions — ski jumping and the abbreviation DSJ can be associated with the cult computer game from 1999. “EY AY” is a project that redefines Chęcki's approach to creation. Instead of building structures, trust the process. Instead of production, interaction. Instead of perfection, authenticity. It's music that doesn't try to be finished — it just is.
