The Polish saxophonist, known for his work in projects such as Nene Heroine and Hinode Tapes, focuses on the energy of the moment and interaction on the new album. Spontaneous, lively and unpredictable playing became the starting point for the recording of the album “EY AY (Deluxe Slay Jazz)”. Now this material will sound live. Chęcki's saxophone, Tymek Papior's percussion and Marcel Baliński's piano will together create a single musical organism. If you like jazz that can surprise you, then on Thursday, November 5, it is worth visiting Hypnosis!
Piotr Chęcki is a saxophonist, composer and producer who consistently explores the boundaries of sound and form. The artist has developed a distinctive musical language in which the saxophone appears in unobvious, often experimental contexts. In his work, Chęcki treats music as a space of color, presence and interpretation of reality. Each of his projects is a new approach to form and new questions about the meaning of creation. His debut album “PE” was an intimate, personal story created in a home studio — somewhere between the living room and the bedroom — combining electronics with acoustic sounds. “EY AY (Deluxe Slay Jazz)” is the artist's second album, which was created in just two weeks, in a fit of intense inspiration. Chęcki created sketches of the composition, which were then developed during one, six-hour recording session. Importantly, all the material was recorded as one take, no overtime, no corrections, no replays. It is a record of pure presence and a moment that will not be repeated again. They will play:
