About the event

“Peasants” is a story about a community in which every action has consequences, and the individual must fight for the right to be himself. In the center is Jagna — a proud, beautiful, independent woman who becomes entangled in the relationships, conflicts and passions of the people of July.

The director reaches for the literary classic and reads it from a new, contemporary perspective. Women become full-fledged heroes—we see their strength, their suffering and their courage.

It's a show about collective violence, social hypocrisy, and how little it takes to become a victim. At the same time, it is a portrait of the world from which our culture and collective identity have grown.

* Performance for viewers 16+

In the performance, the smokehouse of the stage (smoke generator) is used.
