From the very first moments of life, the Christmas tree was a special tree. As soon as she touched the lumps of earth and exposed herself to the sun's rays, she began to fantasize about her destiny. Who will I be? She asked the forest animals. A bird house? The mast of the ships? What will happen to me and what will I experience? When will I be as big as old pines and spruces? Will I be lucky? In the story written by Hans Christian Andersen, the happiness of the Christmas tree comes true during Christmas Eve, in a meeting with the children and with the mysterious Klumpe-Dumpe. A live performance with puppets and live music.

Paulina Porczyńska — “Christmas Tree”

The staged story was written by Hans Christian Andersen and can be said to be a kind of classic. Although I will admit with a slight shame that I did not know her from childhood, or successfully erased her from memory. Unlike my six-year-old who, after a few minutes of the show, was ready to tell me everything. It turned out that they were discussing this story in kindergarten quite recently.

Anna Tchaikovsky — “Klumpe — Dumpe, although he fell down the stairs, got the throne and the princess”

On the tiny stage “Liliput”, perhaps one of the smallest in the capital, in an intimate, child-friendly space, the Gulliver Puppet Theater offers children a meeting with Mr. Andersen. December is an extraordinary time, a period of joyful anticipation for gifts, a Christmas tree and the magic of Christmas. A beautiful, not easy, reflective fairy tale about a wonderful tree, present during Christmas Eve in every house, is an excellent opportunity to feel the atmosphere of Christmas, to distract for a while from preparations and shopping. Dressed in fantasy and fairy-tale reflection, the pensive thought of the Danish writer from Odense appeals to everyone — children and parents. The story of transience and transience, as well as the rare ability to enjoy every present moment, becomes less intricate and fully understandable thanks to the theatrical guise.

Joanna Ostrowska — “Living in the Moment”

The latest premiere of Warsaw's Gulliver is a spectacle-trap. It is known: the holidays are approaching, the nursery is longing for gifts, so it is necessary to fill the waiting period with something. This thing is to produce a so-called “festive atmosphere” and the theater can get involved in it. So if the poster includes a title like Christmas Tree, still bearing the name of Hans Christian Andersen, you can guess that it will be a Christmas spectacle as you look at it.
