On a winter evening, when the stars tremble like tiny lights on a Christmas tree, and silence covers the world with a white cloak of snow, a girl wanders down the street. In his hands he holds matches — delicate sparks that can light up the darkness and evoke dreams.
Each flame that kindles opens before us a different fairy tale by Mr. Andersen: about a Christmas tree that dreamed of reaching the sky, about a heart that did not stop beating even in the cold of winter, about a little soul that found its place among the stars. In the eyes of a girl with matches, a world is reflected in which porcelain figurines come to life, and children dream of angels. In every match there is a memory of the light — the one that warmed the house, once, long ago, when someone else was waiting for it.
“The Christmas Tree of Mr. Andersen” is a poetic story about a miracle fulfilled in the simplest gestures, about the hope hidden in a flame that, although extinguished, continues to smolder in the heart. Life is the most beautiful fairy tale if you can read it with your heart.
