Grzegorz Niemczuk

Called by influential Japanese critics “the contemporary incarnation of Chopin”.

(Nobuko Fujimaki, Chopin Magazine, Tokyo, August 2017)

Grzegorz Niemczuk has built an international brand for himself as an outstanding expert and interpreter of Fryderyk Chopin's music, to which he devoted many years of his artistic life.

He belongs to a narrow group of pianists who have all the works of Fryderyk Chopin in their repertoire.

Grzegorz Niemczuk has a unique gift of talking about music in an accessible way. During the concert, he removes the barrier with the audience, involving them to actively participate in the musical performance. This original idea for piano recitals is a kind of phenomenon in Poland, Europe and all over the world, including in the most prestigious concert halls.

The pianist has performed over 500 recitals and concerts to date, visiting 38 countries on 6 continents (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Lithuania, Russia, Romania, Austria, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Spain, United Kingdom, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Japan, China, South Korea, Singapore, Mali Australia, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Colombia, United States, Jamaica, Curacao, Indonesia).

These were concerts in many prestigious concert halls, including, among others, Carnegie Hall in New York, Kioi Hall, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, Beijing Concert Hall in Beijing, Quintai Concert Hall in Wuhan, Guotai Arts Center in Chongquing, Busan Cultural Center in Busan, Teatro Puccini in Milan, Sergio Teatro Cardoso in Sao Paulo, Centro Cultural de Sao Paulo, Capela Santa Maria in Curitiba, Teatro Civico in Vercelli, Palau de la Musica Catalana in Barcelona, Victoria Concert Hall in Singapore, Collonge-Bellerive in Geneva, F. Liszt Museum in Weimar, Conservatory Music in Shanghai.

In 2024, Grzegorz Niemczuk made his debut in other major concert halls of Europe (including Tonhalle in Zurich, Stadtcasino in Basel, Konzerthaus in Vienna, Rudolfinum in Prague), achieving spectacular success everywhere and receiving invitations for the next season.

Grzegorz Niemczuk often conducts his own concerts, introducing listeners to the secrets of performed music and introducing interesting facts from the biographies of composers. Everywhere he performs, he is met with a warm reception from the audience and critics, which results in further invitations for the future.

It is especially appreciated in Asia. After a spectacular solo debut in Tokyo in July 2017, an extremely enthusiastic review was published in the prestigious magazine “Chopin”. This performance resulted in further invitations to recitals in Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Sapporo, Asahikawa, Obihiro, Hakodate, Aomori), as well as a contract with Chopin magazine for monthly articles on the performance of Fryderyk Chopin's music.

In December 2017, he made his debut in China, where he performed at the prestigious Beijing Concert Hall as part of the Festival “Polish Circles of Art” (the largest festival of Polish art in China). This concert was widely echoed in all major Chinese media. He is also a favorite of the Norwegian public — he has performed in more than 30 different cities of Norway to date, arousing great enthusiasm everywhere and receiving invitations for further performances.

In the years of the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2022) Grzegorz Niemczuk created an unprecedented and unique project of film recordings and lectures on all the works of Fryderyk Chopin, intended primarily for music lovers who want to understand more deeply the masterpieces of the most outstanding Polish composer. More than 330 episodes were created in two language versions (Polish and English), published on YouTube and on the artist's Facebook page.

Grzegorz Niemczuk is a graduate of the Katowice Academy of Music in the class of Prof. Józef Stompl and a multiple participant of the International Keyboard Institute & Festival in New York (Mannes College of Music), where he studied intensively under the guidance of such eminent artists as Jeffrey Swann (artistic tutor of Grzegorz Niemczuk in 2009-2013), Jerome Rose, MenaPressler, Philippe Entremont, David Dubal, Cyprien Katsaris.
