The ever‑versatile vocal ensemble VOCES8 celebrates the breadth of the human voice in Let’s Fly Away, an exhilarating programme spanning five centuries. Sacred polyphony and romantic choral writing sit alongside jazz standards, pop and folk favourites, moving freely from Byrd, Palestrina and Bruckner to Nat ‘King’ Cole, Rodgers & Hart, Ben Folds and Simon & Garfunkel in VOCES8’s trademark radiant, genre‑crossing style.
Programme: Byrd – Laudibus in sanctis; Mendelssohn – Richte mich, Gott; Arvo Pärt – The Deer’s Cry; Palestrina – Magnificat primi toni; Bruckner – Locus iste; Taylor Scott Davis – The Wonder of It All (world premiere); plus arrangements of Nat ‘King’ Cole, Rodgers & Hart, Mumford & Sons, Ben Folds, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles and more
