Chris Brain (UK)

Doors: 19:00

Chris Brain is a folk singer/songwriter from Yorkshire whose music is firmly planted in the British pastoral tradition and shaped by a careful attention to place, memory and emotional nuance. His fourth album, 'Red Sun Rising' (2026), is a quiet but strong collection of songs that revolve around longing, restlessness and the desire for change.

Rooted in acoustic timbre and personal narratives, 'Red Sun Rising' feels like a record created in motion: landscapes change, seasons change and inner life is gently brought out of balance. Brain's songwriting balances melody and restraint.

Chris is a well-known name on BBC Radio 6 Music and the BBC Radio 2 Folk Show and has shared the stage with iconic names such as Robert Plant, Jacqui McShee and Martin Simpson. “Golden Days”, the first single from debut album 'Steady Away' appears in the A24 film We Live In Time, starring Oscar nominees Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield.
