Church of Sound celebrates its 10th anniversary with a landmark Barbican debut featuring a stellar lineup of jazz musicians. Bringing together old and new works, this special programme places the Church of Sound community firmly within the living continuum of British jazz.
Through this programme, The reverberations of British Jazz 1965-1975, the first set unfolds as a songbook, honouring the golden era of 1965–1975, when artists including Ian Carr, Stan Tracey, Mike Westbrook and Michael Garrick helped define a bold, exploratory sound. More than a tribute, the evening reveals how that spirit still resonates today: connecting past and present, deep listening and collective memory, and the restless imagination that continues to shape what comes next.
Produced by the Barbican in association with Serious and Church of Sound.
