Body parts

A performance of the Baj Theatre in Warsaw (Poland) shown as part of the International Best Showcase.

Inhale, exhale. We listen to our bodies. We lie down, we sit, we get up. We begin a dance that will take us inside, into our interior. In the rhythm of the beating heart, in the rhythm of pulsating blood cells, according to the sound of a deep intake of air. We will embark on a journey in which we will get an unprecedented opportunity to look at the heart, blood cells or lungs. Sometimes slowly, uniformly, in a moment more energetic and with more verve. Sound, movement, sound, movement — like the ticking of a clock hidden in the belly.

The youngest absorb the world with all their senses with just as much passion and curiosity. They do not yet guess which organs are responsible for breathing, digestion or increased activity, but they already recognize certain sounds or gestures that their body makes. During the “Body Building” they will have the opportunity to look from the side what their inner world looks like, how it sounds and how it moves.

“Ciałogranie” is a performance in the style of Bajowe najów, the first that was created in the Baj Theater based on dance, movement and choreography. Soft plastic forms on a macro scale inspired by selected biological processes: breathing, digestion, pulsation of blood, fill the entire space of the Small Stage, creating an organic space reminiscent in a free and unspoken way of the inside of the body.

A few words to the most hired attendants, or what you need to know when coming to the performance: — the performance takes place in an intimate, cozy space, — before entering the Small Stage where the performance takes place, you must take off your shoes (you can bring slippers), — we ask that you do not consume food and drinks during the performance, — we ask you not to take pictures during the performance, This can be done during the game after the show.
