At the height of the Cold War, farmer Karl-Göran Persson begins to strengthen his home. He collects scrap metal and builds it into the walls to build a fortress to protect himself and his neighbors. His efforts arouse surprise in everyone but the children. As the work progresses, conflict with the villagers grows. A great cinema of small gestures and beautiful images with Denis Lavant in the lead role. Intriguing and meditative.
