When Stefano Knuchel was a child, his family was rich and lived in a spacious villa in Tessin. The parents ran a motel with a nightclub, life seemed like an endless party. Stefano dreamed of becoming like his idol, French pop star Claude François. When a motorway made the motel superfluous, the father took care of his family with illegal real estate transactions. The businesses flew up and the family embarked on a restless escape across Europe. For Stefano, it was like an endless vacation, no school, always in the sun, always by himself, without friends, and the bare essentials were always already packed in case the police would show up. Finally, the father is arrested and the mother moves back to Tessin with the children. With iron discipline, she earns a living for her family in a night bar. At some point, Stefano also makes peace with his parents.

At some point, Stefano also makes peace with his parents.
Stefano Knuchel tells this life story with calm distance and dry humor with ever new images, half surreal, half document, half contemporary story. He never loses himself in self-pity; his life seems like an eternal dream that will give him meaning in the end.
