The online world is a second home for children and young people — a place to learn, play, make friends, but also a space full of hidden traps. It often seems to us that we know what young people are doing in front of the screens of smartphones and computers. The truth, however, is that there is a whole hidden layer of online reality that children prefer to keep quiet about — for fear of being judged, punished, misunderstood, or losing access to technology. Behind this silence is a powerful, invisible player: the negative algorithms of social media and streaming platforms, which aim to capture the maximum attention of young people at all costs.

Krzysztof Piersa — addiction therapist. A graduate of the University of Health Sciences in Bydgoszcz. For 9 years he has been conducting prevention workshops for adolescents and adults on addiction to computer games, smartphones and on the dangers of the Internet. Regular guest of scientific and training conferences. He conducts lectures and trainings for teachers, educators and psychologists in the field of digital addictions in schools, libraries and universities. He has conducted more than 1,100 trainings in facilities throughout the country. Author of preventive courses and popular scientific guides “Komputerowy Ćpun”, “Komputerowy Ćpun 2.0” published by ed. Muse, “Goldfish in Shamba” ed. Jaguar and “Dream Coach”. Guest of psychology podcasts and opinion-building programs. He specializes in the dangers of modern technology. It explores the topics of microtransactions, box gambling and their impact on the youngest players.

The event is part of the “Proficultura Gdański Program for the Prevention of Digital Addiction”. The project is implemented thanks to a grant from the City of Gdańsk.
