About the event

Directed by Agata Biziuk, the play raises questions about authenticity, freedom and courage to be ourselves, while remaining a kind and humorous story about our weaknesses, imperfections and constant attempts to “fix” ourselves. We invite you to a special evening at the cafe tables of the Little Comedy Scene. In the atmosphere of a radio studio, with live music and lyrics inspired by the life, activity and uncompromising insight of Maria Czubaszek, we will find that sometimes the best recipe for human problems is not good advice, but an accurate point.

Scene: Small Stage

“At a time when the psychologist was approached rather quietly, radio served as a national therapy. People have not yet been able to speak publicly about their fears, complexes or failed loves. But when they heard them on the radio, it suddenly became clear that they were not alone. Mary could name what others could not say. She didn't moralize. She did not forcibly console. Rather, it was a reminder that most of our tragedies turn out to be quite good comedies upon closer inspection. And the most beautiful thing was that for a long time the listeners did not even know what it looked like. They only knew the voice and the lyrics. And maybe that's why they trusted her more than many of the people they saw every day.
It was even suspected that Janusz Kofta was hiding behind the name “Czubaszek”. Apparently it was easier to believe that the brilliant humor was written by a man incognito than that it was done by a woman without any camouflage.
