About the event

Award winning artist, Collette Cooper, who was first discovered by the legendary Huey Morgan on BBC 6 music announcing she was one of his favourite vocalist in the UK, will be performing in a stripped down, intimate setting, accompanied only by her pianist, to share some of her upcoming songs that she’s working on with legendary, multi Grammy winning producer, Tony Visconti, as well as fan favourites from her back catalogue and some Jazz classics from Nina Simone, Art Blakely and Gershwin. The evening of music and conversation will also include a Q&A.

Collette Cooper is a multi-nominated, award-winning vocalist, writer, performer, and critically acclaimed independent artist championed by BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6 Music, Soho Radio, Jazz FM, and many other stations around the world. Her inspirations go back as far as Bessie Smith and Mozart.

Collette is difficult to fit into any box – she has a unique sound of her own.

Her music is eclectic and timeless with sometimes, dark, dramatic and theatrical tones, with a strong blues, folk, soul and jazz influence. Her truly unique, haunting style and visually captivating performance is electrifying with her raw, emotional honesty and leaves the audience enchanted and wanting more with her raspy, ballsy, powerful vocals.

Her distinctive vocal style is often described as ‘Janis Joplin channelling Edith Piaf with a sprinkling of Esther Phillips’. Her original work is timeless yet fresh, and her versions of covers are totally reimagined. Collette has played sold-out performances around the world.
