COSÌ FAN TUTTE or School of Lovers

Così fan tutte, ossia La scuola degli amanti (So do all, or the school of lovers) was the last of Mozart's buffa operas. It is one of his last works, created in 1790 (the year before his death) and the third opera, which was created in collaboration with the excellent librettist Lorenzo da Pont.

The disguising and impersonation of the characters as well as the plot of infidelity brings Così fan tutte closer to the Marriage of Figaro. Is Così fan tutte a comic masquerade? Manipulations of feelings, seductions and changes of feelings, loss of faith in their permanence: contrary to the appearance of a light story with disguises, this is an opera with a touch of nostalgia and difficult directorial.

This opera by Mozart first appeared on the poster of the Bydgoszcz opera in 2021. Unlike Abduction from the Seraj, Director of the Theatre, Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, the Magic Flute, this title has never been realized in Bydgoszcz before.
