CROOKS INC. are a six-piece jazz/soul collective from London, formed in late 2021. Since coming together, we’ve built a reputation for our energetic live performances and distinctive blend of 90s R&B, modern jazz and soulful grooves, establishing ourselves within one of the UK’s most exciting and rapidly growing music scenes.

Our journey so far has seen us perform at some of London’s most iconic venues, including the Jazz Cafe, XOYO, Brixton Jamm and The 100 Club. We’ve also taken our music to major festivals, including The Great Escape and London Jazz Festival, while sharing stages with artists from across the UK jazz and soul community.

A major milestone came with the release of our debut EP, Kismet, which marked the culmination of everything we had developed together since forming. The project introduced our sound to a wider audience and led to support from both Spotify and Apple Music, with our music landing on influential editorial playlists including New Music Friday, Jazz UK and On the Corner.

Creatively, we’re now entering an exciting new chapter. Following the release of Kismet, we’ve spent the past year pushing ourselves to explore what CROOKS INC. can sound like beyond our existing work. Our upcoming EP sees us experimenting with more expansive soundscapes, unconventional structures and experimental rhythms, while retaining the soulful and jazz influences that have always been central to the band.

For this performance, we’ll be showcasing several of these new songs live for the first time. It will offer audiences a first glimpse into the next chapter of CROOKS INC. and the direction we’re taking our music. After building our foundations through our debut EP, major live performances and growing streaming audience, we’re excited to continue developing our sound, reaching new listeners and establishing ourselves further within the UK jazz scene.
