ul. Lubicz 48, Kraków

Rossini's “Cyrulik of Seville” is a buff opera that is considered an unsurpassed model of the genre. It is also the most famous and beloved work of this composer, which consists of beautiful music, a great script and “inexhaustible resources of theatrical humor”, as Piotr Kamiński writes in the book “A Thousand and One Opera”. The musical direction of G. Rossini's opera is carried out by Tomasz Tokarczyk, the director is the outstanding theater and film actor, director and educator Jerzy Stuhr. This lover of Italy, culture and art there, had his directorial debut in the musical theater just on the Krakow stage. To this day, his “Don Pasquale” by G. Donizetti enjoys unwavering popularity. This time, his and Tomasz Tokarczyk's workshop is again presented with a comic opera — “Cyrulik of Seville”, which is a demonstration of both compositional mastery and wit. It is also a work that is “teeming” with famous musical themes and “hits” in the history of the genre.
