A farce recognized as one of the funniest. Paweł Świętek and Szaniawski's team reach for a demanding genre that Szaniawski has not hosted on Szaniawski's stage for more than 20 years!
“WHAT CAN NOT BE SEEN” tells about the theater, about endless rehearsals, desperate directors and devastated actors. Michael Frayn describes the comical situation of the theater troupe's struggles just before the premiere and goes on a long tour with the performance. Spectators get a unique opportunity to see from the inside how the theater is being built. “WHAT YOU CAN'T SEE” is a performance in a performance, where the personal life of the actors is intertwined with the lives of the characters they play.
This three-act play takes the audience right into the running before the premiere, with director Lloyd Dallas trying to bring the third overall rehearsal to the end. We follow the performance of “what can be seen” born in pain, unfortunately, the actors are confused in the lyrics, the scenery is shaky, and the door handles keep falling out of the door. To make matters worse, matters of the heart come to the fore. The stage situation that shows a theatrical rehearsal becomes the perfect lens through which to see the world of theater, or even more broadly, the mechanisms that govern us all.
“WHAT CAN NOT BE SEEN” is a story about the theater family, about how we work, what life looks like behind the scenes.
