Cherries

Cherries will play for the kids in the Dry Forest

Imagine songs that tell about the most important things: protecting nature, taking care of your own health, love for loved ones, respect for diversity. Aimed at the youngest, but avoiding infantilization. Performed in a lively form, full of games and interaction with the audience. Imagine a children's team unlike any other — Cherries!

Cheresnie is a “children's” version of the work of Andrzej Zagajewski, winner of the Polityka Passport in the Popular Music category, everyday folk punk frontman Hańba! and an educator and music producer. As Czeresnie he has already released 5 full-length albums - the last one is Cheresnie w mieście (2024). The band's albums are filled with inspirations of world music, which are translated into the language of living instruments by those famous from Shameful! : Wojciech Wędzicha (clarinet and saxophone), Jakub Lewicki (tuba and saxophone) and Sebastian Kaszyca (percussion).

The band has collaborated with, among others, the National Library (album Czeresnie pani Maria, 2022), the National Museum in Warsaw, Tygodnik Powszechny or the publishing house Bliże Przedszcza.

In April 2026, at the invitation of the Polish Radio for Children and the Radio Centre for Folk Culture, Czeresnie hosted a Grand Concert at the Agnieszka Osiecka Music Studio of Polish Radio with the participation of the laureates of Our Musical Source.

In 2026, a new album called Cherries Among Animals will be released. The protagonists of the new songs are animals, which - like in classic fairy tales - survive human quarrels as much as possible. Cherries invariably raise important and topical topics, such as nature conservation or health care (both physical and mental).

Cheresnie, however, is not only albums, but also - who knows or not first of all - live performances, during which the youngest listeners, according to the idea guiding the musicians, are invited to participate in a full-fledged “music concert”.
