・MAN FOR EVERYTHING・
Anki and Wilhelma Sasnalów on the Main Stage of the National Old Theatre in Krakow
The screening of the film will be the opening event of a new program track of the National Old Theater — “Radical Curiosity”, whose ambassadors are precisely Anka and Wilhelm Sasnalów.
This path is a proposal for people interested in new stage languages, non-obvious forms and topics that demand a fresh look.
In addition to Agnieszka Żulewska, Piotr Trojan and Andrzej Konopka, the cast of the film included actors from the National Old Theatre: Juliusz Chrzęstowski, Roman Gancarczyk, Ewa Kolasińska, Mikołaj Kubacki, Michał Majnicz, Aleksandra Wrońska and Małgorzata Zawadzka.
The film by Anka and Wilhelm Sasnal is an adaptation of Robert Walser's prose. It tells the story of bookbinder Joseph Marti (Piotr Trojan), who, after being humiliated by his superior, ends up in a suburban villa as an assistant to engineer Tobler (Andrzej Konopka) and a trustee of the Lady of the House (Agnieszka Żulewska). Set at the intersection of modernity and the beginning of the 20th century, the story is a study of work, subordination and the price of belonging — Joseph gradually gives up his freedom to keep a place with his breadwinners.
After the screening, we invite you to meet with the filmmakers.
