“The man who wanted to live a second time” performance of the YETA Theater

We are initiating in MSK: Żabieniec a new format of theatrical events under the name “Reunion at the Theater”. It will include periodic presentations of performances by both our own and invited theatre groups. The first proposal is the performance of the YETA Theater “The Man Who Wanted to Live a Second Time”. Supporters and lovers of theatrical art are invited to follow our digital messengers, because this is where you will find detailed information about the events taking place as part of the new format “Reunion to the Theater”. The performance of the YETA Theatre, based on a text from the early period of K. K. Baczyński's work, “icons of the Columbus generation”. The adaptation concept captures — full of the typical of catastrophists — the atmosphere of the cosmic entourage and the contrasts between the idyllic vision of life and its gray and disturbing reality. In a manner typical of Baczyński's works of that time — the “poet of the Apocalypse fulfilled” — the story contained in this play shows the atrophy of the bonds between people, their dying and annihilation in a situation of being cut off from their roots — from values, love, closeness and family warmth. It testifies that without these values, a person's personality disintegrates into parts (“elements”), and no escape will help in this. Not to a parallel timeline, not to another city — not to another life. For the past — cities to build and endure, like a foundation — will turn out to be a stone at the neck, weighing down to the bottom. In the accompanying performance, the author's music, lurks in the distant background of the Unknown and its side scourge — Terror. Distant, though distinct, are the sounds of rifle fire and the even, sinister rumble of crooked, soldiers' boots. Cast: Paweł — Paweł Żurawski/ Krzysztof Kwaśniewski, Lao — Dominik Zakrzewski/ Łukasz Gołygowski, Helena — Viktoriia Ptashynska/Marina Kardash, Krystyna — Oliwia Sacińska/Kamila Biedrzycka. Music — Paulina Kwapińska (arrangements — Fryderyk Żeromiński), scenography and costumes — Julia Ciołkowska. Adapted and directed by Adam Wrzesiński.
