Thursday Music Evenings — Libertango

The SIMA Classics Foundation invites you to a concert from the series “Thursday Musical Evenings” of the Los Cafe quartet — a unique meeting with tango music, in which the accordion plays the main role. The artists will take the audience on an emotional journey from classic Buenos Aires melodies to contemporary compositions inspired by tango, jazz and world music.

The program will include works by legendary tango artists such as Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Gardel and Richard Galliano, as well as compositions by Henry Mancini, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Paquito D'Rivera and Gerardo Matos Rodríguez. The audience will hear, among others, the famous Libertango, Oblivion, Adiós Nonino, Por Una Cabeza and the timeless La Cumparsita.

Selected tracks will be enriched with a performance by a dance couple from the Alfa-Astra dance school in Stargard. The combination of live music with expressive dance will create an evening imbued with elegance, temperament and a characteristic tango atmosphere.

The guide to the world of tango will be Piotr Szulc. His story will tell the story of the music that was born in Buenos Aires and conquered the scenes of the whole world - passionate, elegant music, full of longing, rhythm and unique emotions.
