Is it possible to separate art from biography? In search of the truth about artists.

To understand a work, do we need to know the life of its creator? Does biography help to discover the meaning of art or, on the contrary, impose a ready-made interpretation of it?

Access to knowledge about the life of a creator does not allow some to admire his work and can change the way we perceive his art. The autonomy of the work is questioned by some, considered by others as the only possible way of perceiving art.

Sylwia Zientek and Borysław Czyżak talk about biography as a key to interpretation, but also about its pitfalls: myths, silences and situations in which learning about the artist's life makes us look at his work in a completely different way.
