Can you trust red — Rose Lithuania Vernissage — 23/10/2026, 19:00

For the exhibition in Ujazdowski Castle, Róża Litwa has prepared new works, developing the themes constantly present in her work: reflections on the condition of man and his feelings, on being with others and the rapidly changing reality.

The leading theme is the title trust. What does it mean to trust — to systems, to other people, to yourself — when everything around seems increasingly fuzzy, fragile and uncertain?

The paintings, spatial works and animations of the Rose of Lithuania prompt reflection on the individual and social dimensions of trust. At a time when distrust of institutions is on the rise and digital media are piercing the contours of the present world and questioning our sense of reality, art — thanks to its power of expression and its resistance to all sorts of simplifications — allows a penetrating expression of growing anxieties.

The artist has developed an expressive visual language, built on minimalist and timeless metaphors, symbols, signs. With the help of recognizable and at the same time rich in ambiguity motifs, Róża Lithuania expresses the whole palette of experiences and emotions that shape modern man. He combines the themes autobiographically with a more systemic, sociological reflection. As an insightful and sensitive observer, the artist points to beautiful literature as one of the most important inspirations, launching the entire creative process. It is not surprising, then, that the title red refers to Anne Carson's novel-poem The Autobiography of Red.
