Today you just need to press the switch. What was the evening like in a house where the only source of light was a flame?
At the exhibition we will look at candlesticks. We will talk about candles, oil lamps, candelabra and other ways of lighting the interior that changed everyday life.
From the history of the objects we will move on to the next questions. Why do we see colors? Is there light invisible to the human eye?
During the workshop, each participant will make their own candle and candlestick. We will examine what the wick is for and look at how material, form and flame work together.
The meeting is part of the educational and interpretive program for the temporary exhibition “Enlightened. The Art of Light.”
