Cecilie Norby

Experience jazz and rock singer Cæcilie Norby in Koncertsalen when, in connection with her tour of Denmark (Blue Note Days Tour 2026), she visits the museum with a repertoire that took her completely out into the international jazz world. The four albums she released on the iconic Blue Note Records between 1995 and 2002 marked a new era -- both for Norby and for modern vocal jazz.

The releases on Blue Note not only marked the start of her solo career, but also form a pivotal chapter in her international career. As the first Scandinavian vocalist, she was signed by Bruce Lundvall, who fell for her ability to reconcile the freedom of jazz with the melodic warmth of pop in an early crossover expression. A term which since became part of Blue Note's success with artists such as Norah Jones and Cassandra Wilson.

The four albums — Cæcilie Norby (1995), My Corner of the Sky (1996), Queen of Bad Excuses (2000) and First Conversation (2002) — all received strong reviews both in Denmark and internationally. In the years following, Norby toured extensively in Europe, the United States and Japan.

Tonight's concert presents tracks from her Blue Note repertoire -- a tribute to her own artistic journey. From heartfelt ballads to groove-based tracks, Cæcilie Norby will share her warmth and versatility, where it will be clear why she is one of Denmark's most beloved and distinctive vocalists. With her she has an all-star band made up of some of the country's finest musicians.
