Masterful pop tunes played on the heartstrings
With new songs, pop comet Dahlin gives her splinteringly honest music universe a free run when she takes the stage at Little VEGA on November 25.
Though Dahlin has yet to release an entire album or a compilation EP, the young pop joiner has had undisputed wind in his sails since his 2023 single “Boycut.”
She has stood at the top of the podium for the Career Cannon, been P3's Inevitable and last year GAFFA predicted her to be one of the names who will unmistakably chisel her signature into the music year 2025.
And now it's bubbling and seething again in the musician's camp. Dahlin is currently publishing with the ballad “Färke i København” and the pop basque “Død Hvad Jeg Kan”, to which the latter has also entered direct rotation on P4.
The single is part of a larger collection of songs set for release in 2026. Songs that she takes with her when she beats the road past Little VEGA on November 25.
Dahlin has one of those voices, which drills into the heart ball of the listener. With equal parts fragility and strength, she masters big choruses and intimate verses on songs that stand as tableaus into which young untested hearts can mirror themselves.
In the autumn Dahlin played support for Simply Red in a completely sold out Royal Arena, and in 2024 she took the critics by storm when she stood on stage at the SPOT Festival in Aarhus. GAFFA gave it five stars and wrote in their exuberant review:
“Two songs. This is what Dahlin has published. And while the concerts at Spot Festival are admittedly short, it still takes more than two tracks to fill the roughly half-hour timeslot assigned to each artist. Fortunately, last year's winner of the Career Cannon holds more than just a few numbers. Really much more”.
In VEGA, the audience can get a glimpse of the proceedings as Dahlin's honest pop universe blares from the stage and wipes out the hall's frozen November hearts.
