Kimmerer's book, published this year by Znak Publishing House, is a story about man's relationship with nature, gratitude, gift and responsibility. It is also the proposal of a new economy — the economy of gratitude.
We want to talk about what we can learn from the natural world, but we also want to remind ourselves of how much language, literature and culture help us to re-read this relationship. Ewa Stańska from Wyspa Żółwia Magazine and Prof. Waldemar Kuligowski from the Institute of Anthropology and Ethnology of the University of Warsaw will talk about the book, about the relationship between nature and culture, about the natural world and the indigenous message for the modern world in the Raczyński Library.
The “Gifts of the Earth, Gifts of the Word” meeting is another element of this year's edition of the Made in Native America Festival.
