Which stories end up in the archive, which do we prefer to forget? How to deal with the painful chapters of your own life story? With the episodes that you'd rather leave deep in the box even though you wouldn't be who you are today without them? In her memoir “The Archive of Dreams,” Carmen Maria Machado has found an answer to this question: She tells of literature student Carmen, who regains interpretive authority over her relationship with the charismatic, unpredictable 'woman in a dream house. ' Machado playfully jumps between genres, rebuilding the dream home of her memory over and over again — as a romance novel, confession, spy thriller or self-help guide — in order to immediately tear it down again. I throw the stone of my story into a huge gorge and determine the extent of the emptiness based on the quiet impact.”

Author Leo Lorena Wyss (including Nestroy Prize for Best Young Talent) has dramatized Machado's text for the Berliner Ensemble. Jules Head from Bristol is eager to try things out and search for a stage language for the psychological mechanisms of traumatic experiences.
