“THE CINEMA EVENT OF THE CAPITAL”

THE CABINET OF DR. CALIGARI

A really gruesome dance

1920! 103 years later!

The Twenties are back!

Dr. Caligari! The killer in a white coat. He looks for his medium that obeys.

He is old and IT is young.

IT desires for him, IT murders for him, IT dies for him.

It's just a bad nightmare though. The truth is that he wants to help us all. Because we all need his help. “I love you all! ”

Our ancestors perform a really gruesome dance, they gesture and warn, but we can't hear them... they're all silent!

But the orchestra, but the orchestra...

Come in, come in... Cesare tells you the future.

Oh woe, oh woe!

You must be Caligari!

Dr. Caligari displays a somnambule medium called Cesare at the fair and makes it clairvoyant. Two friends attend the performance together. One of the two is murdered the following night after Cesare had previously prophesied death to him. Caligari turns out to be a maniac who uses Cesare as an instrument of murder.

Written shortly after the end of the First World War, Robert Wiene's expressionist masterpiece looks like the fever dream of an era... in which we are entering again.

The film tells the story of a (supposed) showman whose real name remains unknown, who calls himself Dr. Caligari (Werner Krauss).

Caligari appears in Holstenwall one day and asks a city secretary for permission to perform at the fair that has just begun.

Caligari wants to present sleepwalker Cesare (Conrad Veidt), a man who allegedly hasn't woken up from his sleep for 23 years, unless he, Caligari, has woken him up.
