The ancient Egyptians believed that the god Osiris had overcome death and lived on forever as ruler of the realm of the dead. But Osiris was also considered a fertility god and was therefore responsible for the vegetation of the Nile Valley.
In the workshop, you will discover the mysterious Kornosiris; a special ritual object made of clay; and learn why clay, water and grain were associated with rebirth and new life by people back then. You can then get creative yourself and design your own Kornosiris to take away.
A lively mix of story, object viewing and practical, creative work with sound.
Participation fee including admission: 15€ per family (2 people), 20€ per family (from 3 people).
Limited number of participants. Online booking required. Remaining tickets are available at the James Simon Gallery ticket office. The family ticket entitles you to visit the museums on Museum Island on the same day. The entrance ticket to the museums can be obtained at the museum ticket offices upon presentation of the participation ticket for the family workshop.
