A nameless, colorful creature is satisfied with himself and the world until the tree frog asks him a difficult question: “Who are you? ”. Since it doesn't know the answer, it sets out to find an answer. On his journey, the cheerful creature meets many animals and learns that it helps to discover the world and its counterpart in order to recognize itself. And in the end, there is a reassuring insight.
In the production (directed by Evelyne Cannard) based on the famous children's book by Mira Lobe and Susi Weigl, major questions of identity and self-confidence are explored with seriousness and ease. The stage and costumes are made entirely of paper and imaginatively illustrate the story.
With a chord zither, loop station and other instruments, musician Marcus Thomas develops fine, atmospheric sounds and noises from the scenic events, the creation of which the audience can follow up close.
