THE STATE

De Staat has made a name for itself as one of the most innovative and fearless live bands in Europe. With six studio albums and countless live performances, the band repeatedly redefined the limits of the rock music genre. From the rousing battle cries in “Witch Doctor” to the razor-sharp comments in “KITTY KITTY,” De Staat has long been dealing with topics such as demagogy and mass manipulation. De Staat played — and was partly headlining — at major festivals such as SXSW, Glastonbury, Lowlands, Sziget, Boomtown, Rock for People, Pukkelpop, Rock Werchter and Deichbrand and toured with bands such as the Rolling Stones, Muse and Biffy Clyro. Her music — a mix of industrial grooves, hard riffs, experimental electronics, and pop influences — has been used in global campaigns and games and has won Edison Awards, 3FM Awards, numerous music video awards, a Bernays Lifetime Achievement Award, and international critical acclaim.

After a two-year break, De Staat returns with their long-awaited, seventh, self-titled album, an art installation and a live show, celebrating almost 25 years in which they have repeatedly redefined the limits of art rock. Her latest work addresses the dystopian fears of our time, in which power, populism and control clash and gradually blur the line between reality and fiction. De Staat will tour Europe and Great Britain in autumn 2026.
