We invite you to the debate, during which the artist Dawid Wojtalewicz and scientists from the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences will talk about the color of the Baltic Sea.

About the event

We invite you to the debate, during which the artist Dawid Wojtalewicz and scientists from the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences will talk about the color of the Baltic Sea.

The participants will focus on its natural conditions, variations and processes occurring in the sea, affecting its color. The aim is to try to look at this phenomenon from a scientific perspective, but also from a visual and artistic perspective.

The meeting will also be an opportunity to discuss the environmental changes taking place in the Baltic Sea, including the impact of microplastics, and to reflect on the possibilities of cooperation between science and art.

Dawid Wojtalewicz: “I would like the meeting to be not only a presentation of knowledge, but above all an open conversation about what we can see in the color of the sea and what information is hidden behind its variability”.

The following are invited to the debate:

Mirosław Darecki, PhD, Professor IOPAN

Joanna Stoń-Egiert, PhD, Prof. IOPAN

Kaja Bałazy, PhD

Emilia Trudnowska, PhD, Prof. IOPAN
