Debate: Say it all
A constant series of festival talks under the curatorial supervision of the journalist “Gazeta Wyborcza” Wojciech Szot takes as every year topics of social and cultural importance to the background.
A NEW LOOK AT THE CLASSICS OF POLISH LITERATURE
Does everything have to be told anew? Two “Dolls”, the monumental “Odyssey” by Christopher Nolan, the great success of books such as “Songs of Achilles” by Madeline Miller.
Are we living in the age of retelling? Why are familiar stories told anew? Does every story need a new voice, or is it better not to correct some stories? And finally: is the fashion for retelling always a creative dialogue with the literary tradition? Or is it just a marketing ploy?
We will talk about this with Aneta Korycińska, an educator known as “Baba od polskiego” and Lilla Winiarska-Ostachowska, a Polish student from the I LO named after Stefan Żeromski in Kielce. The meeting will be hosted by Wojciech Szot.
