“Delivery Heroes. Heroes to take away”, is a show centered around the experience of being a courier — a food supplier and the relationship between users and employees of an application that offers product delivery services to customers right at their door.
The couriers are drawn into a crazy challenge. There is a lot of money to be won — you just have to engage with full enthusiasm in the increasingly absurd tasks proposed by the organizers. The worlds of work, applications and privacy begin to merge into a single, indistinguishable whole.
The strangers we see in intimate conversations are faced with a choice in their daily lives: whether to consolidate, form a community and fight for their labor rights, or continue to be stuck in a lonely, inhumane competition based on unequal principles.
The perspective of couriers illuminates a much broader social context and is a starting point to ask questions about how we all use the apps designed for us. Questions about working conditions, social status of people working for digital giants. Questions about economic conditions, and more about the realities of living in the conditions of transnational cybercapitalism, in which the employer or client becomes not a natural person or a legal person, but a phantom in the form of an algorithm.
Delivery Heroes. Heroes to take away is a special spectacle. It may happen that you will not sit next to the person with whom you come to the theater, because you chose different paths of experience at the beginning. Think of it as an adventure, share your perspectives and emotions after the show.
From the audience support you will get a phone specially prepared for the needs of the performance with a loaded application, which will allow you to influence the fate of heroines and heroes and for a moment to step into the role of a client or courier and perform an easy task to find your place in the audience. The application is simple and intuitive — we strongly encourage you to use this option.
In order to use the phone, you will receive a statement (you can also download it from the site and come with a ready one) to fill out, in which we will collect your personal data for the purpose of possible claims in case of damage/loss of equipment.
If you do not want to use the phone, tell the audience about it. Then you will immediately get the number of your place. The absence of a phone will in no way prevent you from watching the show, together with everyone you will follow the adventures of couriers and couriers.

The next premiere of Teatr Polski is an exquisitely constructed, brilliantly played, clever play about the world we live in (even if we are not food suppliers). With his energy and commitment, he reminded me of the performances of Polish alternative theatres from the time of the breakthrough. In my private language, this is a great compliment.
The play “Delivery Heroes. Heroes to Take Away” is a very important voice on the growing indifference and unfolding power of capitalism. The creators, in a very clear way, break down the wall of everyday ignorance, forcing us to notice and become aware of the role and status of couriers and suppliers.
“Delivery Heroes. Heroes to take away” is an art that gives voice to the “unnoticed” and the ignored — it not only exposes their working situation, but also their social status and everyday experiences in the struggle for their own dignity.
Just as important a protagonist of the Poznan spectacle as its human characters is the inhuman, seemingly silent antagonist — a system of late capitalism that, like Big Brother, constantly watches, observes and controls every sphere of life. He is a hero who does not give rest, covers reality with his aura and does not let himself be forgotten. The last words of the presenters shift some of the responsibility for maintaining this order to us: viewers and consumers. I don't think that's enough to shift the blame off the shoulders of global corporations. However, the reflection provoked in this way can feed the impulse for change. This, on the other hand, can only be achieved through a common and united resistance to the mechanisms of exploitation.
The performance of Cichonia can fulfill an important educational task, not only as a source of information, but also a performance satisfying the younger part of the theater audience, on whose presence in the theater the future of this play may soon depend.
The National Competition for the Exhibition of Polish Contemporary Art aims to reward the most interesting repertory research in Polish theatre, to support domestic dramaturgy in its stage productions and to popularize Polish contemporary drama. The competition is organized by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute in Warsaw.
In the first stage of the Competition, the performances are evaluated by the Artistic Committee composed of: Jacek Sieradzki (chairman), Dominik Gac, Piotr Hildt, Anna Jazgarska, Szymon Kazimierczak, Andrzej Lis, Wanda Świętkowska.
