Delphine Joussein is a force to be reckoned with. The French flutist and electronic musician is known for her trio NOUT as well as her collaborations with international improvisational musicians such as Mats Gustafsson and his Fire Orchestra or the Ensemble Sauvages Paradis, and other international projects like Kabarila, her duo with Kit Downes, FLÖJTER, Trunk and more…

She is now presenting her solo project, CALAMITY. In Joussein’s work, tonal shifts and powerful electronic drones coalesce into a monumental total work of art. As a collage of intense energy, poetic beauty, free jazz, and noise—infused with elements of early music and extreme metal—Joussein utilizes every inch of her flute and, single-handedly, creates a raw, pieced-together, trembling, hammering soundscape using distortion and electronic effects.
