Free screening as part of the Being Human Festival:
Dementia Film Club
How can collaborative filmmaking support active brain health? Join Vesna Lukic to explore the benefits of filmmaking for people living with dementia.
Dementia Film Club at the Phoenix Cinema is an interactive and creative cinema workshop, where you will find out about the processes of making a film. There will be a screening of a work-in-progress film made with the Barnet Age UK Day Opportunities Centre, and you will be invited to give feedback and make suggestions for the next stages of the project. There will also be opportunities to learn how to handle cameras and record sound and images. Come along and be part of this creative process!
This workshop is designed specifically to accommodate people living with dementia and their carers, and is open to anyone with an interest in filmmaking. Suitable for all ages.
This event is part of Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, taking place 5-14 November 2026. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
