Existential Drama/Sold Out
Look forward to a seductive tale that reminds us that even the most well-intentioned beliefs don't entitle us to the salvation of others.
A young American missionary travels on the other side of the earth with an unshakable goal: to bring Christianity to an isolated tribal people on a protected island. He knows that it is strictly forbidden and that the risk is enormous. With the Bible in his hand, he defies laws, warnings and common sense and sets off.
On the shore stands the mother who, with love as a weapon, has done everything to hold on to her son. Like a brutal mother animal, she has held him hostage with her all-consuming care not to lose him. Both mother and son share the same mission: the desire to save another human being at all costs.
The tale is inspired by the real-life story of John Allen Chau, who in 2018 set out to North Sentinel Island in the Bay of Bengal to pass on the message of Christianity to one of the world's most isolated tribal peoples. The journey cost him his life.
